I am a Senior Research Scientist at the Interdisciplinary Centre for ICT Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), University of Luxembourg. Prior to coming to Luxembourg, I held a Staff Scientist position at Simula Research Laboratory, and before that a postdoctoral fellowship at University College London, supported by an NSERC grant from the Government of Canada.

I received my PhD (2008) and MSc (2003) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, and my BSc in Software Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2000).

Research Interests

My research interests are focused on software engineering, and more specifically on modelling and analysis of software requirements. My current work is concerned primarily with Requirements Quality Assurance (RQA) for business- and mission-critical applications. In particular, I am interested in the development of techniques to support reasoning about the satisfaction of dependability requirements and demonstrating compliance with standards and legal frameworks that regulate different aspects of dependability.

One of the main objectives I pursue in my research is to foster closer ties between academia and the industry. The large majority of the projects I have been involved in in recent years have been conducted in close collaboration with industry partners. My research activities span several industry sectors, including public service, telecommunication, maritime, energy, railways, and automotive.
