I am a Research Scientist at the Interdisciplinary Centre for ICT Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT), University of Luxembourg. Previously, I held research positions at Simula Research Laboratory, where I worked first as a Postdoctoral Fellow (2009-2011) and subsequently as a Permanent Staff Scientist (2011-2012). Prior to that, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at University College London, supported by an NSERC grant from the Government of Canada.

I received my PhD (2008) and MSc (2003) in Computer Science from the University of Toronto, and my BSc in Software Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (2000).

Research Interests

My research interests are focused on software engineering, and more specifically on model-based development of complex software-intensive systems. My current work is concerned primarily with modelling, analysis, and assessment of dependable systems. In particular, I am interested in the development of techniques to support reasoning about the satisfaction of dependability requirements and demonstrating compliance to standards and laws that regulate different aspects of dependability, notably safety, reliability and security. I am further interested in global software engineering, an more precisely, how distributed software teams can keep track of the relationships between their models, and analyze and integrate these models.
